Sundials for garden settings

Garden sundials are some of my favorites. They can create a focal point in a garden, where they are a reminder that sunlight is essential to life and the beauty and growth of plants.

Sundials can function year round and provide beauty through all the seasons. They provide a physical sense of place in relation to North, South, East and West and remind us of the ancient and elemental roots of our fascination with the sun.

The quiet thoughtfulness of a garden sundial gives us an alternative sense of time, one that is measured and slow, in tune with the turning of the earth and the progression of the seasons.
