This planter and arbor was commissioned to provide seating and shade for this station’s light rail passengers. The title refers to images on painted tiles of beautiful places in Bayonne, NJ. The painted tiles are set into the seating surface of the planter interspersed with mosaic tiles of the cardinal directions of the site. Around the vertical surface of the planter there is a relief tile frieze of the panoramic views one sees looking out at the landscape surrounding Bayonne. The umbrella shaped arbor is made of painted steel and is designed to support vines to provide shade over the seating area. The planter is 16 feet in diameter.
