Catherine Konner Sculpture Garden, Rockland Center for the Arts, West Nyack, NY

Designed in memory of Catherine Konner, this sundial is the centerpiece of an elliptical, memorial sitting garden.

Time is told as the earth rotates and the illuminated hour numerals move across the face of the dial and up onto the raised section at the center of the sundial.

The specific memorial feature is a small hole on the south face of the dial which projects a beam of light into the shadowed north side following the etched arc of the sun on Oct 28th, the birth date of Catherine Konner. Bronze, H. 20 inches x W. 36 inches x D. 24 inches, on a black granite base (also see Garden Sundials).
